Requirements for Shodan in Jizaikan Aiki Ninjutsu

All tests in the Jizaikan are 100% pass or fail and are designed to aid the student in mastery of the material at every level.  This helps maintain integrity within the Jizaikan belt system

Students must demonstrate verbal knowledge to include Japanese names, English translations and principles of each of the items as well as have competent physical skill in the following areas –

Randori “Free Response”
Students will perform at least 10 minutes of Randori against unarmed attackers as well as multiple attackers and knife attacks.  During this portion, students will have to show the “Secrets” under Randori circumstances.

Special Training

Students must also attend at least one Shugyo austere training weekend event as well as at least one Mind Science training weekend before taking their black belt test.  They must also complete and pass a 13 page written test as well as a 1,000 word essay on what Black Belt means to them.
